> The home page mentions, "active adult" and, "55 and over community", what does that imply?
"Active adult" indicates that our community is full of activities, both indoors and outdoors. You can participate in exercise programs, any of over 100 Special Interest Groups, a committee, and fun activities arranged by our lifestyle staff and Social Committee.
Being a, "55 and over community" indicates that we are an age-restricted community where at least 80 percent of the occupied homes must include one resident age 55 or older and no one under the age of 19 may live here. Of course, the youngsters are welcome to visit though!
> Are new homes still being built and when do you expect buildout?
Pulte is in the process of finalizing construction of a few remaining homes and estimates final buildout in early 2024 with a total of 1904 single-family homes in a tranquil rolling Hill Country setting.
> Is there a website for purchasing homes?
Use any real estate site and/or have your real estate agent identify new and resale homes.
> How can I get a tour of the community?
We are a gated community so contact your real estate agent to arrange a tour. If you know one of our existing residents, they can also give you a tour.
> May I use the amenities as a guest of a resident? Attend events?
Yes, as guest of a resident, there are some amenities you may use and some events you can attend. Please have your resident friend sign you in at the Front Desk at the Resort.
> How much are the quarterly HOA assessments and what is included?
Our 2024 quarterly assessment is $505.50 (which includes $55.50 trash fee). The remainder covers the vast majority of our operating costs and entitles you to use all the amenities. Many activities are also free but others require a fee to cover the costs incurred.
> What type of exercise amenities does the community offer?
Hill Country Retreat is designed to cater to the unique needs and desires of active seniors seeking an enriching retirement experience. The community takes pride in its large clubhouse filled with top-caliber amenities designed for you to stay active including:

With over 70 Special Interest Groups, from Bridge to Bunco or Golf to Garden Club, we have ways for you to engage in a variety of activities designed to meet your interests. Our Lifestyle staff and volunteers put together numerous weekly, monthly and annual events designed to bring you and your neighbors together including:

> How is Hill Country Retreat managed?
Our resident Board of Directors work with other committee volunteers to manage the interests of our over 3,000 residents. In addition, we can’t fail to mention our dedicated Professional Management Company, CCMC. In using their services, we offer our community an experienced and talented staff that are committed to providing unparalleled service, opportunities to connect, and operational excellence. They work on behalf of our residents to provide seamless operations, timely maintenance, and a harmonious neighborhood environment.
> How will my HOA assessments be put to use?
In choosing Hill Country Retreat, you become part of our well-financed homeowner’s association. Financial stability is our cornerstone, enabling us to invest in top-notch amenities, timely repairs, and community enhancements. Rest assured, our proactive investment approach goal is to ensures a thriving, financially robust neighborhood where our property values are maintained for all residents to enjoy.
Your resident assessments will be used to provide for the operating, reserve, and capital improvement funds. Managed by our team of experienced resident volunteers, our funds are carefully monitored and overseen. With an understanding of the complexities of our financial landscape, our mutual goal is ensuring your investments flourish.
> What utility companies or public service companies support Hill Country Retreat?
● Water and sewer services are provided by San Antonio Water System (
SAWS).
● Trash removal and recycling services are provided by
Tiger Sanitation. The cost for this service is included in HCR’s quarterly homeowner assessment fee. Once a resident moves into their property, contact the resort staff to initiate trash services.
● There are several options for internet/TV services including Spectrum, AT&T, and Dish, among others. At this time, Google fiber is NOT available at HCR. Many plans are available and costs vary depending on the service level. Contact the providers directly to set up services.
